  • show Description
  • Norbert and Daggett are two fun loving beaver brothers, who had to leave home when their mum had a new litter. Now in their own chill palace of a home, Norb and Dag can stay up as late as they want, watch late night movies and eat what they want, but living on your own isn't always a blast... Like most brothers Dag and Norb are close and have their fair share of ups and downs. When they're down they sure are a couple of Angry Beavers! The series won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Editing - Special Class.moreless

    • Daggett: (Jumping on the couch) Norby's a chicken! (bawk bawk) Come on, chicken boy. What are you afraid... (hits the ceiling light and gets shocked) AAAAAAHHHHH!!

    • (From "Up all night") Daggett: (making a prank phone call) Hey chicken-neck you should wear a sweater! Voice on the phone: Daggett, is that you?

    • Daggett: (to a pack of dogs) Your cousin is a three-legged toadstool!

    • (From "Up All Night") Norb: (opening the front door to find a futuristic world) DAG! How long have we been awake?!

    • (from "Go Beavers") Nobert: Wake up and smell the artifical turf! The Beavers haven't won a game in 23 seasons.

    • Dagget: (during fantasy) No more train, no more choo-choo, no more stinky pine tree, that doesn't even rhyme, but I don't care, no more train!

    • (from "Go Beavers") Norbert: (furious) No one calls US weasels and gets away with it! We're BEAVERS!!

    • (Some bears are angry at Daggett.) Dag: Look! Balloons! (All the bears turn around.)

    Notes (52)

    • The chomping toy of Norb states that he's the angry one.

    • This episode was originally the first episode but it didn't fit well with the title so Mitch wrote Born to be Beavers to be the pilot.

    • Angry Beavers writer Micah Wright revealed that Kevin Meany was the man who voiced Norb here.

    • Nick Bakay did not provide Norb's voice in this test pilot.

    • In the Nicktoons magazine where it tells about the Angry Beavers, it shows what Dag and Norb looked like in the test pilot, and how they look in the actual series. Technically they do not look the same, but their bodies are drawn the same shape.

    • On Nicktoons TV, The N-Files said that Dag and Norb once looked the same.

    • Gregg Berger (Bill Licking) does not appear in the credits for this episode.

    • According to Daggett, "spawn" means "Smashing Property And Womping Norb."

    Trivia (24)

    • The ending of this episode is similar to the ending of "Beaver Fever."

    • In this episode, Norbert's model train set makes realistic railroad sound effects (Such as diesel horns, wheel clicks, squealing brakes, etc.) However, a few later episodes with the train set just have the train making "regular" toy train sounds

    • Goof: When Daggett writes "spawn" on the blackboard, Daggett writes "S-P-A-W" diagonally but then suddenly "N" appears without Daggett writing it.

    • In "Tree's Company", Dag throws a wild party in a gigantorous sombraro-wearing "party cow" perched in the top of a tree. Ever wonder where the cow came from? At the beginning of the episode, as the mail truck approaches the dam, you see a "Moochas Gracias for the Milk" billboard with a very large sombraro-wearing cow protruding from the sign. The next time you see the billboard is when Norbie is looking for Dag. Something's missing from the sign. Notice the very large hole in the billboard where there used to be a cow.

    • In "Stump Looks For His Roots": The cook shows Norb and Dag a school out the window that was built by Stump. You hear a buzzing noise in this scene and Dag cries out "There's a giant fly attacking the school!" The cook quickly smashes the fly with a piece of chewed gum. Problem is we never actually SEE the fly on the window. That buzzing noise comes from NOWHERE!

    • When Norbert and Daggett are spreading their musk across the country, their journey begins in Washington when they usually live in Oregon or California.

    • Throughout "Whats Eating You?", especially the mine car scene, Norbert's eyes turn yellow.

    • In "Up All Night II: Up All Day," Norbert and Daggett wake up in that SAME futuristic world from "Up All Night," but it's overpopulated by sheep, and Norb and Dag are OLD Beavers, since they slept.

    Allusions (80)

    • Norbert: ...Captain A-Dag
The episode "Fish and Dips", contains various references to both Jaws and Moby Dick (Norbert calling Daggett "Captain A-Dag" and Daggett's peg tail).

    • N/A: N/A
When Dag and Norb are building the space dam, the metallic black rectangle floating through space looks like the monolith from Stanley Kubrick's masterpeice, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Also, there is a scene in 2001 where a ship is flying through space and "The Blue Danube" is playing the background, just like in this scene.

    • Guess Who's Stumping to Dinner: The title is a pun of the 1967 film "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner".

    • Tree's company: The title is a pun off the sitcom "Three's Company."

    • Full Metal Jacket: R. Lee Ermey plays a near-identical role to his character in "Full Metal Jacket": an abusive, belittling Drill-Sergeant who has a habit of calling people 'maggots'.

    • Daggett: Backstage passes? Backstage passes! We don't need no stinking backstage passes! This is a parody of a quoted line from the film "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" (1948) and later, the parodied version from the Mel Brooks film "Blazing Saddles" (1974) - "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!"

    • Pond Festival: The music festival that plants itself upon the Beaver's house seems to be a parody of Woodstock, the rock festival from the 1960's.

    • Title: Bummer of Love
The title of this episode, "Bummer of Love", is a take-off of the Summer of Love, that summer from the late 1960's.
