  • show Description
  • This early series was an odd marriage of two totally unrelated segments. The only thing that connected the two was the show's title. One half of the program was hosted by famous mentalist Joseph Dunninger ("The Amazing Dunninger") who thrilled viewers with his mind-reading skills. In one stunt, he read the mind of a Congressman in Washington, D.C. while he was in the New York studio. The other fifteen-minute portion starred ventriloquist Paul Winchell (his first TV series) and his dummy Jerry Mahoney. The two portions of the show had no interaction; in fact, Dunninger and Winchell barely got to know each other. The Bigelow Show aired on NBC through July 1949. It returned in October for a brief run on CBS.moreless
