    • Though this parody of Gone with the Wind is perhaps the most famous of Carol Burnett's movie spoofs, it wasn't the first time she parodied the film; exactly nine years earlier, on Nov. 13, 1967 (with Richard Chamberlain and Gloria Loring as guests), Carol did an earlier spoof of the movie, playing "Scarlett O'Fever," while the Rat Butler role was played by Chamberlain and another character who was Rat's rival for Scarlett's affections was named "Ashley Famous" – a reference to a Hollywood talent agency of the time which, due to a series of mergers, acquisitions and consolidations over the next decade, had become known as International Creative Management (ICM) by the time this better-known takeoff aired.

    • The scene in "Went With The Wind," in which Starlet appears in the gown made from the draperies – curtain rod and all – came in 2nd in TV Guide's 50 Funniest Moments in Television.

    • Special audience guest Anthony Hopkins is recognized by Carol at the opening of the show.
