  • Quotes (5)

    • Foghorn Leghorn: Somedays it don't pay to get out of bed!

    • Foghorn Leghorn: What's goin', ah say, what's goin' on here?! Don't stand there with your beak open! Say somethin'! Explain yourself! Your tongue's flappin', but no noise is comin' out of your big mouth! Now get out and stay out! Scram, that is!

    • Foghorn Leghorn: You gotta keep your eye on the ball. Eye! Ball! Eyeball! I almost had a gag, son. Joke, that is.

    • Foghorn Leghorn: You got a hole in your glove. I keep pitching them, and you keep missing them.

    • Foghorn Leghorn: That Rhode Island Red turned white. Then blue. Rhode Island. Red, White and blue! That's a joke, son! A flag waver!

    Notes (13)

    • The Foghorn Leghorn is on volume one of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection DVD set (disc four), with original title card and credits. With this DVD release, it surpassed Hen House Henery (1949) as the earliest-released Foghorn Leghorn cartoon to survive with its original credits intact, only to be surpassed by Crowing Pains (1947) in 2008.

    • The CBS version of The Foghorn Leghorn leaves in the trunk sequence, but cuts out the climatic scene where Henery throws a stick of lit dynamite into the barnyard dog's house.

    • On ABC, the part from The Foghorn Leghorn where Barnyard Dawg climbs out of the trunk and gets whacked on the head and face as Foghorn is wildly gesticulating while telling Henery Hawk that he got a trunk instead of a chicken was drastically shortened. Also cut short was the part after the doghouse blows up and Barnyard Dawg throws Foghorn to the ground and kicks him, calling him a "good-for-nothing chicken".

    • The Foghorn Leghorn was only one of five post-1948 WB cartoons to get a Blue Ribbon reissue prior to 1956 - with the original credits cut. The others were Daffy Dilly, Kit for Cat, Scaredy Cat, and You Were Never Duckier.

    • The Foghorn Leghorn is 7 minutes long.

    Trivia (2)

    • During Captain Hareblower, Bugs used the same gag he used on Sam in Buccaneer Bunny (1947), throwing a lit match into Sam's powder room to blow up his ship.

    • The "eyes-in-the-dark" gag seen during The Stupor Salesman had been previously used in Frank Tashlin's wartime cartoon, Scrap Happy Daffy (1942).
