    • From here on, each episode ended with a preview of the next day's show: e.g., "Tune in next time when Sylvia sings about (Pete's pickle)." A reverberating tone bleeps out the words listed in parentheses for the youthful audience to guess. This closing was not included in the Noggin rebroadcasts. Submission by Brian Rathjen, 286

    • Underwriters' credits change to read as follows: Funds for "The Electric Company" are provided by National Center for Educational Technology, Office of Education, Dept. Of Health, Education and Welfare Carnegie Corporation of New York The Corporation for Public Broadcasting The Ford Foundation

    • A new opening sequence is used, featuring everybody running toward the camera (including the Short Circus); rotating boxes of the show's cast members; and eventually everyone piling atop each other in a pyramid. The same opening theme music as last year was used.Peer at the lower portion of the TEC logo in this season's titles and closing segments. ™ & © CTW is printed imperceptibly close to a curve in the logo.

    • Also, The Short Circus gained a new member: Denise Nickerson. While best known for her role as Violet Beauregarde in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (starring Gene "Letterman" Wilder), Nickerson had been familiar to TV audiences the previous season as Liza Walton on the soap opera Search for Tomorrow. As a member of The Short Circus, her character name was Allison. (Denise may be familiar to longtime Brady Bunch fans as the girl Peter Brady's double becomes friends with at the end of the 1974 episode, "Two Petes in a Pod," where Peter meets his exact double.)

    • This was the first episode featuring Luis Avalos as a regular, where his character name was Roberto. He'd also play Dr. Doolats (a parody of Dr. Doolittle) and Igor (the Mad Scientist's dim-witted assistant). The Electric Company was the Cuban native's first starring role in a TV series, though he'd later star in a number of mostly forgettable TV series from the 1970s through the 1990s. The bulk of his success came mainly in theatrical and made-for-TV movies. Luis also guest-starred in numerous TV shows, including Full House, ER, Walker Texas Ranger, JAG, and Archie Bunker's Place.

    Trivia (1)

    • Featured songs "Boom" (The Short Circus). "The Cool Fools" (animation). "Finch and Dench" (Rita).
