    Trivia (5)

    • Fred works for Slate Gravel Quarry.

    • Tennestone is "wet" state and Arkanstone is a "dry" state. The reference has nothing to do with the weather; it had to do with the fact that liquor was not sold in certain states in the 1960s. Actually, Tennessee was a dry state for a long time. Bedrock is a thousand miles from Arkanstone.

    • Note the grape juice reference. Grape juice will be mentioned in almost every episode from now on, since Welch's was the main sponsor of the show.

    • Zeke Flintstone died at the age of 102, after falling out of a tree.

    • The Hatrocks are Mona; her granddaughter Granny; Clem/Pa; Clem's wife Gravella; an unnamed redhaired male who is named Zack in the other Hatrocks episode; and their cousins Benjy and Maybelle.

    Allusions (3)

    • The Bedrock Hillbillies is most likely an allusion to the megahit (at the time), The Beverly Hillbillies.

    • San Cemente is a parody of San Clemente, CA.

    • Characters: The Hatrocks The characters take their name from the historically infamous Appalacian clan the Hatfields whose generations long feud with the McCoy family has become the stuff of American legend.
