    • (Mr. Rockwell, the music publisher, looks over "Fred's" song) Rockwell: You mean to tell me this is an original composition? Fred: If it ain't, I'll eat it! Rockwell: (angrily) You might find the little pieces easier to chew!! (slams the slab of music on Fred's head, which breaks into little pieces)

    • (Wilma hears the door slammed open) Wilma: Is that you, Fred? (Fred marches in the house and growls as he walks to his chair) Wilma: Make yourself comfortable dear. Dinner will be ready in a few minutes. (Fred growls at her) Wilma: Oh, I'm so glad you're in a happy mood. I wanna show you something funny, Fred. Fred: Yeah, what! Wilma: I'm going to show you how you look when you come home. Fred: Wilma, this is no time for games. Wilma: Watch, Fred. (Wilma slams open the door! Then she marches in the house while growling, she site in her chair and then laughs!)

    Notes (4)

    • On Tuesday, January 23, 1961, Mel Blanc almost lost his life in an automobile accident, when his little sports car went off the road on a dangeous curve atop a hill in California. Miraculously, he recovered, but was encased in a body cast in his bedroom for an entire year. During his early recuperation, Daws Butler, uncredited, filled in for Mel for five episodes, which were seen early in the second season in the fall of 1961.

    • This was the first guest appearance of a famous celebrity on the series- in fact, Hoagy Carmichael did indeed write "Yabba-Dabba-Dabba-Dabba-Doo", the song that was performed on the show.

    • This episode was recorded on 2-7-61.

    • For episodes P-29 through P-33, the role of Barney Rubble is voiced by Daws Butler. Mel Blanc had apparently gotten into a car accident in January 1961 (when this episode was recorded), and was comatose for three weeks. Daws Butler briefly assumes to voices of Barney and Dino for 5 episodes.

    Trivia (1)

    • Hoagy's assistants are named Sally and Rocky Rockland.

    Allusions (2)

    • Scat Von Rocktoven is of course a parody of Ludwig von Beethoven.

    • This episode is a remake of The Honeymooners' episode entitled Songwriters, from Dec. 11, 1954.
