Janice: Carlton, when a woman says, "Drop dead, troll," it usually means she's not interested.

    • Philip: (calls out to the elevator repairman) 'EY! Hey, how much longer before somebody gets us outta here?! My wife's havin' a baby!
Repairman: She ain't in there with ya, is she?
      Philip: No!
Repairman: Good! 'Cause I'm goin' on a break.
      Philip: WHAT?!!
(everyone in the elevator rants at the repairman)
Repairman: Just kiddin'. Little elevator humor there.
      Man: Oh, man!
Repairman: All right. I'll get ya outta there as soon as I can.

    • (Will looks at his beeper)
Will: Whoa. Uncle Phil, that's Aunt Viv!

(Vivian rings the bell again; everyone else groans) Will: All right. Come on, y'all. This ain't easy on Aunt Viv. I mean, the baby's a week late. (Vivian rings the bell over again) Will: All right. Dat bell is MINE! Who's with me?!!

    • Geoffrey: (enters in response to Vivian's bell) What a novel idea, that little bell. Vivian: Geoffrey, would you get us all something to eat, please? Geoffrey: Oh, golly, yes! Gee, it's great to be working in the big house! (he goes on about his work) Will: You've all met our butler. Chicken George?

    Allusions (3)

    • Will: And whatever you do, never ever feed her after midnight!

This is a reference to the '80s movie, "Gremlins". The protagonist of the movie is given strange little cute furry creatures as pets, with three rules, the last of which is to never feed them after midnight. When he does, the creatures begin to morph into evil monsters who wreak havoc on everything around them.

    • Will: If you don't give me the phone, I'm going to start singing Paula Abdul's greatest hits. This is a reference to the 1980s pop singer Paula Abdul.

    • Vivian: PHILIP! Philip: VIVIAN! Vivian: PHILIP! Philip: VIVIAN! Will: WILMA! This is an allusion to the The Flintstones cartoon in which Fred always yells WILMA! which is his wife's name.
