  • Quotes (10)

    • Rose: I couldn't sleep either but I think it was something I ate. Sophia: What did you eat? Rose: Oh just a handful of Snowcaps, a couple of Devil dogs, oh, and a HoHo chopped up in some mixed nuts covered with heavy syrup. Dorothy: Couldn't sleep? I'm surprised you didn't try to kill the Mayor of San Francisco!

    • Blanche: Girls, listen to me, when a famous artist like Jasper DeKimmel dies, the value of his work doubles, sometimes even triples! You know what that means? Rose: Sure, it means that if he dies, those crummy pictures of his will be worth a fortune... He'll have more money than he'll know what to do with! Dorothy: You almost got it, Rose.

    • Blanche: Wait a minute, Rose. Is that my Cabana Club beach towel you have there? Rose: Is it this one with the naked man and woman being swept up in the waves? Blanche: Yes, that's it. You can't use this towel. [takes towel from Rose] Dorothy: Blanche, Blanche, it's an emergency. We'll replace it next week. [takes towel from Blanche] Blanche: Oh, no, you cannot replace this towel. There are too many fond memories attached to this towel. [attempts to wrestle towel from Dorothy] Dorothy: Blanche, please. I am in no mood to hear about the parade of endless sexual encounters that you have experienced up and down the Florida coastline, with only this towel between your hot flesh and the cold, wet sand! Blanche: I brought my son, Skippy, home from the hospital in this towel, Dorothy. Dorothy: You're lying, Blanche. Blanche: Damn, you're good.

    • Rose enters the living room carrying two buckets Dorothy: Hi, Rose. Is the roof leaking in your bedroom, too? Rose: No, Dorothy. I was just milking the cow I keep in my closet. Boy, with only three hours sleep, I can be as bitchy as you!

    • Lady: I'm surprised Jasper is not here. He never misses one of his auctions. Rose: Well. It's not cause he's dying.

    Notes (4)

    • In pivotal episodes such as "Job Hunting" and others the girls liquid assets are not that great. They are just scraping by. If that's the case, then this episode is fine, but how do you explain the lavish gowns and pearls and heels they buy everytime someone like Don Johnson comes to town?

    • At the start of the episode, it is the morning, but when Blanche shows the girls the brochure, Rose claims that she put her cremecicle down "this afternoon"

    • Notice when Rose bids on the sculpture the bid is up to $25,000. The auctioneer asks for $30,000. Then Dorothy waves her thing and the auctioneer asks for $35,000 without anyone else making a bid. Then Rose waves the thing again and he says he has $35,000, again.

    • Blanche mentions her son Skippy in this episode.

    Trivia (2)

    • In the start of this episode, the outside shot of the house looks as if it is raining and foggy. This is further supported by the girls' discussion of the roof leaking. However, when Dorothy walks in the front door during the opening of the episode, it looks like it is sunny and bright while she is checking the mail.

    • According to Rose in this episode, her Uncle Gustaf was a coal "mimer." However, in Season Five's "All Bets Are Off," Uncle Gustaf commited suicide after his horse defeated him for water commissioner, and hung himself in the barn.

    Allusions (1)

    • Rose: I couldn't sleep either but I think it was something I ate. Sophia: What did you eat? Rose: Oh just a handful of Snowcaps, a couple of Devil dogs, oh, and a HoHo chopped up in some mixed nuts covered with heavy syrup. Dorothy: Couldn't sleep? I'm surprised you didn't try to kill the Mayor of San Francisco this is an Allusion to the Murder of Harvey Milk and Mayor Mascone of San Francisco who were murdered by Deputy Dan White, who's lawyers then tried to plead "the twinkie defense" blaming his addiction to junk food for his mental capacity regarding the murders
