  • In the original movie, Tantor referred to Terk as "missy," but here he doesn't know she's a girl.

  • Throughout the episode, La's eyebrows repeatedly change color.

  • When Terk and Tantor uncovered the cages, Tarzan got upset. Renard Dumont released the cages and they landed in the water. Isn't it weird that they floated? It was metal, shouldn't it have sunk?

  • Terk finds and eats a banana while she and Tantor are searching for Tarzan and the others, but bananas wouldn't be in the African jungle. Bananas originated from southeast Asia.

  • During nearly the end of the episode, Gobu told his family "Tublat can't beat Tarzan on his own, he needs us!". What he means is, without them, Tublat is nothing. So if they all worked together, they can beat Tublat, and stop him from forcing them to work for him.

  • If the animals had been acting strangely, then why didn't they attack the village that Tarzan and Jane were at before they returned home?

  • Ian looks like an older, scrawny, yet muscular version of Tarzan when he was young.

  • When Ian was at the waterfall trying to make himself look like Tarzan, it resembled young Tarzan in the movie when he was at the same waterfall looking at his refletion.

  • This series' episode names all begin with "Tarzan and the." That's because in Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan books, they all began with "Tarzan and the" in the title.

  • Disney's: Aladdin
    When Jane smashes La's staff you can see smoke coming out. This is very similar to a scene in the Disney movie Aladdin when Aladdin did the same thing to Jafar's scepter.

  • The way Ian was nearly killed by the baboons is just what happened to Jane when Tarzan first met her.

  • Roosevelt's resolution to start giving science the chance to study living animals in light of what he learns from Tarzan has some basis in reality, as the first safari park in America was set up during Roosevelt's term as President.

  • Terk: Nice view! I can see my tree from here A slight jungle twist on the standard "Wow, I can see my house from here" bit.

  • Tarzan refers to both his adoptive parents (Kala and Kerchak) as well as the hunter Clayton from the Disney movie Tarzan.
