Disaster happens and the band find themselves trapped and isolated in this dangerous land with only the help of a young wild woman who was stranded in the land herself as a child. Together, the band fight to survive against the fearsome dinosaurs and other dangers that the land has as they search for a way to escape. • Roxton: Yes well I always say anything that isn’t worth shedding a little blood over, isn’t worth the getting.

    • Summerlee: Good Lord man this isn’t Edgar Rice Burrows you don’t expect her to understand English do you? Veronica: Well my French is a little rusty but I’m willing to give it a try. Allow me to introduce myself my name is Veronica.

    • Marguerite: My resources are not limited

    • Challenger: Really Miss Krux, your lack of faith is becoming disturbing.

    • Challenger: I'm asking you to surrender your the name of science of course!

    • Challenger: You've left Summerlee unprotected! Marguerite: Next time I'll let him eat you!

    • Ned: Would someone get me the HELL down from here!!

    • Summerlee: How disappointing. I have to reload.

    • Lara Cox, who played Phobe, later will play Finn in the last eight episodes of season 3.

    • The title comes from a BBC radio service call sign used during World War II "This is London calling..."

    • This is the only tribe shown that is concerned with the danger of the dinosaurs. The other tribes seem to have no problem living in the open.

    • This episode is a lot like Jules Verne's Journey To the Center of the Earth. Both have an underground race of people, as well as artificial light created by electricity.

    • This is William deVry's last episode.

    • Lara Cox makes her first appearance as Finn in this episode.

    Trivia (22)

    • When Marguerite returns to Roxton and Malone after being gone for "two minutes" during which time they encountered the cellophane creature in the form of Marguerite, Marguerite's clothing is barely blemished by the remains of the quicksand. However, when Roxton, Malone and Marguerite all run together from the cellophanes, her upper garment is considerably more (quick)sandy stained.

    • Pterodactyls could still get into the paradise and kill everyone. Only the dinosaurs that don't fly can't get in. So that place couldn't be all perfect.

    • Challenger indicates that the carving is made of whale bone? There are whales on the plateau? That village is pretty exposed. Couldn't a t-rex just run in and kill everyone? Why is Challenger convinced he will find an ocean route off the plateau? Since Veronica lived there shouldn't she be able to tell him that Inland Sea is just a lake?

    • Wouldn't Egyptians speak ancient Egyptian? Why do they speak English? All the tribes seem to speak English, even ancient ones. Maybe it just solves the communication problem with the explorers otherwise the episodes would be really long and hard to understand.

    • Summerlee dies in this episode and in the next season, Tribune says he saw him floating out and over a waterfall.

    • This is kind of a cross over from this episode to the one in season two of the conclusion of this episode. Roxton has his hair cut when he is saved from the river.

    • When Drakul allows Thane to pursue Challenger's party, he says,"Then go, and take three men with you." When Thane's pursuit party catches up with two of Challenger's party, Summerlee and Marguerite, we see that Thane has five men with him.

    • Before Summerlee and Marguerite are captured, Marguerite's pant leg is soaked with blood. When they are being led into the camp, the blood is gone. It then reappears when they are inside the tent.

  • A decent show that, yes, wasn't the best, but certainly not the worst. It had it's moments and was a pretty good watch overall.
