    Notes (6)

    • Episode 3 on Muppet Show Season 1 dvd

    • The music for "At the Dance" was composed by Joe Raposo.

    • Debut in this episode: Fozzie bantering with Statler and Waldorf (the hecklers in the box).

    • "Pachalafaka" was supposed to be the UK spot but "Sherlock Holmes and the Disappearing Clues" was chosen instead because the show needed a musical number.

    • When this episode was released on dvd in the Season One box set, some cuts had to be made for various reasons: - "Stormy Weather" sung by Wayne and Wanda (Music licence issue) - 2 short Muppet Newsflash bits (Added just before the show was broadcast, these two skits were not on the master tape provided to Disney)

    Trivia (5)

    • Notice that the back row of the Muppet audience is merely propped up and not moving. There was a shortage of performers.

    • Notice during the "Wilkommen" number that Dr. Teeth's hands are different. This time they are merely foam. The band for this number consists of Baskerville on guitar, Muppy on piano, and Catgut on drums.

    • In the "Comedy Tonight" sketch, the green whatnot Muppet with black hair that is wearing a trench coat, has three different voices.

    • The monsters seen during the 'Comedy Tonight' sketch are; Gorgon Heap, Lenny the Lizard, Boppity, Beautiful day Monster, Ms. Kitty, the vultures from The Great Santa Claus Switch, and Gloat. Also, Mary Louis and Crazy Harry appear in the sketch.

    • During the end of "Wilkommen" we can see the tip of Goelz' head under Zoot's and Janice's bodies.

    Allusions (5)

    • Fozzie's jokes on any subject is similar to a Morey Amsterdam routine. You can see this routine on "The Dick Van Dyke Show."

    • "Pachalafaka" was written by Irving Taylor. It was on the 1958 album "Terribly Sophisticated Songs: A Collection of Unpopular Songs for Popular People." Soupy Sales recorded it as well for a 1965 album.

    • The song "Comedy Tonight" is from the Stephen Sondheim musical A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum....

    • The song "Wilkommen" is from the musical Cabaret by John Kander & Fred Ebb. Joel Grey made the song famous in the original Broadway production and then again in Bob Fosse's movie version.

    • The song "Razzle Dazzle" is from the musical Chicago by John Kander & Fred Ebb, who also wrote Grey's most famous starring vehicle, Cabaret. Joel Grey later played Amos Heart in the extremely popular Broadway revival of Chicago, where he sang "Mr. Cellophane," a song used in the Ben Vereen episode of The Muppet Show.
