George and Mildred would be relegated to background characters during the second season, though they would appear in the theme opening for the show for the life of the series.

    • This episode was taped from 11/24-26/1976.

    • "When I'm Not Near the Girl I Love" adapted from the E.Y. Yarburg and Burton Lane song is the UK spot. It's from the musical Finian's Rainbow.

    • Debut: Gonzo's love affair with Miss Piggy.

    • This is the first appearance of Gonzo's trademark; him rapidly rushing on camera with a WHOOSH sound effect.
