    • Waldorf: (About Paul Whiliams) He's a credit to his race. Stantler: What race is that? Waldorf: hundred yard dash.

    • Paul Williams: I had a special reason for being on the Muppet Show. Aside from myself, the everyone is a muppet. Muppets are little, tiny things. For the first time in my life, no one will make jokes about how short I am. for the first time in my life, I am the tallest person on the show. (Sweetums, Thog, and a Mutation come out, dwarfing poor Paul) Paul: For the first time in my life, I will cry in front of 30 million people...

    • Janice: That man is annoying me. Zoot: He isn't even looking at you. Janice: I know, that's what's annoying me.

    • Waldorf: This show is good for what ails me. Statler: Well, what ails ya'? Waldorf: Insomnia

    Notes (9)

    • Episode 8 on Muppet Show Season 1 dvds

    • The UK spot with the song "I'm in Love With a Big Blue Frog" marks the UK debut of Robin the Frog, Kermit's nephew, on the show. He can be seen on the far right of the bottom chorus row. Most audiences had to wait until the Harvey Korman episode to be introduced to Robin, and his relationship with Kermit wouldn't be established until the second season.

    • Paul Williams is one of only a few guests to have Muppet characteratures made of themselves (he gets two, both of which appear in the "Old Fashion Love Song" number). This was originially going to be a tradition in the show, starting with Juliet Prowse, but later dropped.

    • "I'm in Love With a Big Blue Frog" is the UK spot in this episode. It was featured on "The Muppet Show" album.

    • This episode was nominated for an Emmy for writing.
