A PIECE OF TV HISTORY UNACKNOWLEDGED

    By joeydak1111, Jan 26, 2013

I WAS IN 7TH GRADE WHEN "THE NAME OF THE GAME" WAS FIRST AIRED ON NBC. EVEN AT THAT EARLY AGE, I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE HIGH QUALITY PRODUCTION VALUES. FOR A TV SHOW, THE MUSICAL SOUNDTRACK, THE EDITING AND DIRECTION WERE ABOVE AND BEYOND THE NORM. I'VE BEEN VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THE SHOW NEVER FOUND A HOME IN SYNDICATION AND DOESN'T SEEM TO FIT THE PROGRAMING OF COMCAST'S 'XTREMPIX', NETFLIX OR HULU.

Another wonderfulshow that should be on DVD

I only saw a few episodes of this show when it was on TV, but I loved what I saw. It was usually literate, wonderfully acted and not afraid to tackle hot button issues or complex moral dilemmas. One comment on how peopel have different tastes. I saw Thge White Birch when I was ten and enjoyed it immensely. It gets excellent reviews on TV.com. However, the TV.com reviewer tor eit to pieces. I guess it proves the old adage, DasGustibus Non Est Diputandummoreless
