  • Not that having too many storylines is a bad thing, but I really liked it when they cramped it down to only two in the first season.

  • Quotes (21)

    • Summer: I don't wanna hear it. What are you guys? Like Kavalier and Gay? Seth: That was funny. Summer: I know.

    • Ryan (to Caleb about Lindsey): She's been asking questions about you. Who you are, what you're like. And even though I told her, she still wants to get to know you.

    • Marissa: What are you doing in here? Caleb: You're not at school. Marissa: Yeah, you're not at work.

    • Seth: I know that it's totally creepy. I know that. I'm sorry. It was just a very long summer and I'm sorry and I will destroy all of them right now. I just need to find my X-Acto knife.

    • Max (surveying Sandy's new office): I was under the impression you'd become a successful lawyer.

    Trivia (5)

    • Lindsay has a "Dennis Kucinich for President" bumper sticker on the back of her car.

    • Goof: As Lindsay and Ryan pull up to the Cohen's driveway, we can see that Lindsay has many bumper stickers on her car. These include "PeTA", "Kerry & Edwards", "Free Tibet", "Extinct is forever" and others.

    • Goof: At the 39-40 minute mark, Seth bends over to look under his bed to see if Summer took his comic book drawings. When you see him bend down, he puts his right hand on the floor to give him stability and from another angle it is his left hand on the floor, and back and forth.

    • Goof: In the scene in Seth's bedroom with Seth and Summer, there is a white fluff on the back of his sweater that appears and disappears between shots.

    • Goof: Ryan told Lindsay the reason that he was late getting to the restaurant was "traffic" as if he drove himself there, but then later they showed Lindsay driving Ryan home as if he didn't have a car. Perhaps he took a cab?

    Allusions (4)

    • Seth: I love him, but he's Lex Luthor. Lex Luthor is the arch-enemy of the DC Comics super-hero Superman.

    • Lindsay: "I A9.com'd him last night, and according to the OC weekly, he's pretty much everything that's wrong with western civilization.."
Lindsay "A9.com'd" Caleb, which means she did a search at A9.com for his name. A9.com is a new search website, with some cool features.

    • Summer: (To Seth and Zack) "Kavalier and Gay"
"The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay" is a Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Michael Chabon dealing with two boys and their love of comics. It has been referenced multiple times on the series, including being part of Seth's gift package in "The Best Chrismukkah Ever."

    • Seth: "...are they open to some sort of menage-a-threeway as in the film Summer Lovers?"
Summer Lovers (1982) is a film about an attractive young American couple spending the summer in Greece, where they develop a close relationship with an attractive young Greek woman. It stars Daryl Hannah, Valerie Quennessen...and Peter Gallagher (Sandy)!
