  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (5)

    • Jim: So, I caught everyone before they left, and I told them my idea. They loved it, because this is a group that respects good ideas, that one time a year they hear one.

    • Michael: Would you have sex with Meredith? Jim: What? Michael: Do you think she'd keep it quiet? Jim: I'm gonna go to my desk.

    • Ryan: (rubbing his nose) I'm gonna go use the restroom. Dwight: You've already been several times. Ryan: Yep. Dwight: Maybe you have some kind of bladder infection. Ryan: I don't know, maybe. Dwight: I'll order you some cranberry juice. Ryan: With vodka, you're the best!

    • Pam: There is a master key and a spare key for the office. Dwight has them both. When I asked, "What if you die, Dwight? How will we get into the office?" He said, "If I'm dead, you guys have been dead for weeks."

    • Phyllis: Did the police solve the problem with the—? Ryan: (cutting her off) Yes. Yes they did. Yes they did. (cut to interview) Yes, the social networking feature of the Dunder Mifflin Infinity website was infiltrated by sexual predators.

    Notes (4)

    • The French episode title is "La Soirée spéciale", meaning "Special Night". The Spanish title is "La salida nocturna", an exact translation.

    • When casting the tall woman who would kiss Dwight, the show was looking for a girl 6'1" or taller but the actress who got the role, Cassie Fliegel, is only 5'11", you can see Rainn Wilson hunching slightly when he's standing behind her so she appears taller.

    • Music: Dwight sings to Ryan the first words of a German children's song called Schlaf, Kindlein, Schlaf, which translates to Sleep, little child, sleep.

    • Kate Flannery did her own stunts in this episode, however Paul Lieberstein did not.

    Trivia (2)

    • Dwight's statement that Troy resembles a hobbit is not quite true, as male hobbits do not have beards.

    • A major plot hole involving the Dunder Mifflin staff getting locked in is, how could security not have known people were still there working when there was a parking lot full of cars? Also, as owner of a company in the complex, Bob Vance would have a key, yet Phyllis never called her husband.

    Allusions (1)

    • Dwight tells Troy that he resembles a hobbit, creatures from J. R. R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
