    • This episode ends with a memorial bumper dedicated to voice actress Marcia Wallace (Ms. Krabappel), who passed away on October 25, 2013 prior to its airing.  It says "In loving memory of Marcia Wallace" just before she gives off her most famous laugh line "HA!"

    • Show Title:  Radioactive Man and Fallout Boy flying in the sky.

Billboard Gag:  One more hour till milk expires;  Thank you Daylight Savings!

Chalkboard (non) Gag:  A saddened Bart writing just once "We'll really miss you Mrs. K."

Couch Gag:  This extended sequence parodies the Lord of the Rings saga where the family is on a journey to get to their coveted couch.  They look at a map featuring various locations like Springfield, Shelbyville, the Land of Chocolate, Critter Country, Funkytown, LAX Self-Parking, the James L. Brook, and the Comfy Couch on the center of the map.  As various LOTR characters, they being their journey under the title The Couch Gag: Part One of Six. After traveling through various weather patterns, they pass a cave where Moe resides, representing Gollum, is snubbed by a female version, who vanishes once he gives her a ring.  Lenny, Carl, and Barney are seen as giant Ogres who turn to stone when the sun rises (Barney crumbles afterward).  After some distance, the family passes a castle filled with treasure, some of which Homer tries to take before being attacked by a dragon resembling Mr. Burns.  They then encounter Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney as warrior ghosts before Marge the Grey uses her magic to turn them into friendlier ones.  The family finally arrives at their destination where a tired dwarf Homer lies down, taking up the entire couch.  The Hobbit Bart asks "What about us, man?"  And Homer replies "Get your own couch!" before lying down again.

    • y4j1981 Nov 04, 2013

    • Torzhestvuyushe Nov 04, 2013

So the character who was killed off ended up being a fake character? I didn't find that clever, just stupid.

    • MikeMoser1 Nov 04, 2013

it wasnt a fake character, it was duffman.. also edna krabappel's actress really did die last week

    • Torzhestvuyushe Nov 05, 2013

Yeah, I understand that. Although the announcement of killing off a character and the death of Marcia Wallace seemed to be unrelated and mere coincidence.

    • MikeMoser1 Nov 05, 2013

i know, but duffman was a popular character
