  • The title is also the name of a character from the 1985 Tim Burton film "Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure," starring Pee-Wee Herman.

  • Milhouse: Teletubbies get away with more than this! The Telettubbies are colorful fuzzy creatures who like to dance, sing, and play videos on their tummies. Milhouse was previously seen watching the Teletubbies in the episode "Wild Barts Can't Be Broken."

  • na: Iwo Jima
After Milhouse knocks over the American flag, the veterans raise it in a pose identical to the famous photo of the U.S. Marines raising the flag on Mt. Suribachi after the 1945 American victory over Japan in the battle of Iwo Jima during World War II. The Marine Corps Hymn also plays in the background just to emphasize the similarity.

  • Plastic surgeon: "Great Ceauşescu's ghost!" The plastic surgeon who sees that Marge has gained large breasts speaks in an eastern European (possibly Romanian) accent. The reference is to Nicolae Ceauşescu, the brutal Romanian dictator who was overthrown and executed by his people in a December 1989 military coup.
