  • Quotes (10)

    • Mario: I hate to leave, but we gotta go out and get some refreshments. Luigi: All right, well, gimme the list. Mario: 2 lbs. of grapes. Luigi: (writes it down on his notepad) 2 lbs. grapes. Mario: 2 lbs. of, uh, figs. Luigi: (writes it down) 2 lbs. figs. Mario: 4,000 tangerines. Luigi: 4,000 tangerines?! Mario: Oh, that Lyle, (flexes) he's a big guy. Luigi: You're right. Let's hope he doesn't show up early. But more importantly, let's hope our stupid cousins don't show up!

    • Lyle: (to himself) Mel Gibson...
      Mario: What's wrong?
      Lyle
: Kinda been looking forward to going dancing. The nerve of that Mel Gibson taking my girls! (Mario and Luigi laugh)
Luigi: You're such a kidder, Lyle! (he gladly punches Lyle on the arm, but gets his knuckles cracked)

    • Marianne: Luigieena went to look for Mario and you. I'm startin' to get worried! I'd better go look for them.
      Luigi
: Oh, good idea, Marianne, and while you're out there, check out Alaska!
Marianne: Lyle! Don't forget tonight about the dancing. (she leaves)
      Luigi and Lyle: DANCING?!

    • Mario: Water... water... I'll even settle for some meat sauce!

    • Luigi: Look at that loot! Diamonds, gold, rubies! It must be worth over 100 bucks!

    Trivia (7)

    • On the cover of the VHS tape they show Mario, Luigi, and Toad on a magic carpet that they never ride, with a genie that looks completely different than the one in the episode.

    • Why would Koopa throw Princess in quicksand? Doesn't he realize that without her, he can't become the ruler of the Mushroom Land?

    • The bottom of Koopa's carpet is supposed to be completely navy blue. However, when Princess falls through the trap door, the door is yellow for that one shot.

    • Once Koopa shows up, the lower half of the Sultan's body disappears for a few shots.

    • The official episode synopsis reads, "The Marios wage a wild magic carpet battle to save the Princess from being forced into King Koopa's harem." That contradicts the actual story, though. It was Sultan Pasbah who wanted to add Princess to his harem; Koopa just wanted to dump her in the quicksand.
