    • (interrogating Tom Spiegelman who tried to rob a bank's armored van.) Det. Delahoy: Listen, man, you're 87 years old. And this is your first offense. What happened? You blow your retirement on strippers and blood thinners?

    • (after they were assigned to protective duty) Det. Walsh: Look, Casey, remember I told you, NYPD... the economy of favors... that whole thing? All right, well this is the scale of importance. It's not complicated. It's very simple, actually. The basic principle is this: crap rolls downhill.

    • Det. Walsh: (hears a girl screaming from the stairwell) Is that a sex scream? Det. Shraeger: I don't know what kind of sex you're having.

    • Det. Delahoy: I'm calling because I have another symptom. Everything I eat uh, tastes like meat. Which sounds much dirtier than I intended. Dr. Monica Crumb: Definitely neurological. If you were dead, you know what I'd do? An autopsy. 'Cause I'm a medical examiner, not your doctor.

    • Det. Shraeger: I can't believe you knew I was rich this whole time. Det. Walsh: Your last name's Shraeger. There are buildings named after you. Det. Shraeger: True.

    • (trying to pull over car driven by 87-year-old man) Det. Banks: Is he... speeding up? Det. Delahoy: I think he's trying to make a run for it. (into the loud speaker) Hey, Steve McQueen. In the 1968 action suspense film Bullitt, Steve McQueen, who starred as the title character, was the driver in what is considered to be the first modern car chase captured on film.
