  • Basso Jerome Hines and pianist Tong II Han are the guest soloists. Howard Barlow conducts the Firestone Orchestra and Chorus. Highlights: The Orchestra opens with "La Danza" from "Scenes Napolitaines" by Massenet. Jerome Hines solos with "Serenata" by Tosli. Tong II Han will plays the Waltz in E Minor by Chopin. The Chorus sings "Moonglow" and "Picnic" theme by Will Hudson, Eddie DeLange, Irving Mills and George Duning. Jerome Hines sings "Tambour Major" from "Le Cald" by Thomas. Jerome and the Chorus sing "Eternal Father, Strong to Save" by the Reverend John B. Dykes. Tong II Han plays Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto in G Minor. Jerome Hines and the Chorus close with "You'll Never Walk Alone" from "Carousel" by Rodgers and Hammerstein.moreless

    • The Voice of Firestone was pre-empted on October 29, 1956 for a televised speech by Vice President Richard Nixon by the Eisenhower-Nixon Committee. And Adlai R. Stevenson and Senator John F. Kennedy addressed a democratic rally in Boston.

    • According to producer Frederick Heider, the 14-year-old prodigy Tong II Han is returning to the program because of "the overwhelming response" which greeted his August 27th debut on The Voice of Firestone.
