    • Jim: Governor Bradford again. Artemus: Yep. Fine man. Jim: Yeah, I like him very much. I always had a great deal of respect for him. Artemus: Oh, so do I. So do I. His taste, his judgments his ability to, uh, select people. I'm looking forward to working with him again. Jim: Artemus, you're a hypocrite. Artemus (laughs) Yeah! So are you. Jim: He just happens to have one of the most beautiful secretaries I think I've ever seen. Artemus: Miss Piecemeal. Jim: Mmm, it's been over a year, though. She, uh, might not even be working for him anymore. Artemus: Oh, what an ugly thought.

    • Miss Piecemeal: I'll be your liaison, Mr. West, work very closely with you. Jim: I was hoping you'd say that.

    • Miss Piecemeal: The last time we met, there was a frightful crisis. Jim: I don't always mean trouble.

    • Jim: Uh, ladies, I recommend dinner and the theater. Artemus: And, uh, maybe a tour of the Barbary Coast? Helva: Could we go dancing? Artemus: I'm afraid not. You see, I... I have this little crick in my neck. Helva: Ah, that is simple. Artemus: Aha. (Helva begins to give Artemus a neck massage) Artemus: Uh, thank you, thank you very much. Thank you, that's so much better. I think we can start now. (The two women leave) Artemus: Will you tell me why do I always get the one with the cold hands?

    Notes (2)

    • Writer Jason Wingreen returns, as an actor, in "TNOT Whirring Death."

    • This was the last episode produced by Fred Freiberger. CBS fired him, Michael Garrison and most of The Wild Wild West crew, ostensibly because Robert Conrad was perceived to be too much in control of the production.

    Trivia (3)

    • Disguise: art critic, Messr. Gaston LaRusse of Sorbon

    • Trivia: Miss Piecemeal is unique in the series for serving two different villains--Dr. Loveless in "The Night the Wizard Shook the Earth" and Prof. Bolt in this episode.

    • Despite only ten episodes having passed since "The Night the Wizard Shook the Earth," and both episodes occurring in the same season, Jim says that it's been "over a year" since he last met Miss Piecemeal.
