  • Quotes (1)

    • (after Hooker and the psychic escape the burning car) Hooker: If you won't let me take you to the hospital, at least let me get you a ride home, you could use the rest. Julia Hudson: How do you know? ESP? Hooker: Yeah, maybe it's catching.

    Notes (4)

    • German episode title: "Medium auf der Spur", meaning "Psychic on the Scent"

    • This is the first of Buck Taylor's two, unrelated appearances on T.J. Hooker. He can also be seen in season five's "Blood Sport."

    • Marcy Lafferty, William Shatner's real-life wife, had previously appeared as a different character in the second season episode "Blind Justice". She appears again, in different roles once again, in the fourth season episode "Sanctuary", and the fifth season episode "Partners In Death".

    • Much of the basis of plot for this story is recycled from (or at least, is very similar to) the second season Starsky & Hutch episode "The Psychic". In that story, a friend of Huggy Bear's has psychic visions of the whereabouts of a kidnapped teenage girl, and has Hutch desperately racing across town to reach telephone boxes to receive instructions from the kidnapper, as Hooker does in this episode. (The only key difference is that in that story, the psychic is reluctant to use his gift). Various other series also have their own similar take on the idea. For example, The Incredible Hulk's third season episode, "The Psychic", involves a psychic (incidentally played by the wife of Bill Bixby, that show's star!) foreseeing a murder; and in the third season Airwolf episode "Fortune Teller", a woman with psychic abilities is the only key to finding the abducted Archangel.

    Trivia (2)

    • Hooker and Julia are parked across the street from the warehouse where the young girl is being held, when the truck comes crashing out of the warehouse and smashes into the side of the patrol car, before speeding off. When Hooker and Julia give chase, although the back window of the car is smashed, there seems to be absolutely no damage on the side where the truck hit it!

    • Romano is administering CPR to Hooker. Corrigan feels a pulse and tells Romano not to stop. Aren't you supposed to stop if the heart is beating???
