  • Episode Description
  • Tonight's Quickfire requires the chefs to use all their skills and imagination to create an edible dish because the main ingredients are insects or worms. Next it's off to a charity dinner where each chef will have to hawk his or her dish for $100 per plate.

    • (The chefs are remembering their worst nights at their restaurants.) John Currence: I almost murdered a pantry cook because he had taken salt to put on top of a crème brûlée and he couldn't make it caramelize, and so he just sent it out to the table. Now, that's not to say that I conducted myself entirely diplomatically, but I didn't kill him.

    • Mary Sue Milliken: I'll eat every kind of eyeball, brains... I'll eat anything... but bugs.

    • Celina Tio: (tasting a cricket) Ugh, God. (laughs) They're not very delicious. John Currence: Were you expecting delicious?

    • Curtis mentions in his blog at the Bravo website that this was not the first time he's eaten insects. He'd tried crickets in Thailand, and actually rather enjoyed them. He'd also eaten a large earthworm in the Outback with an Aboriginal elder, but he doesn't say whether it was a pleasant experience or not.
