  • Top Chef's eleventh season travels to the "Birthplace of Jazz" where chefs will compete in challenges that take advantage of the local culture and produce, and the rich culinary landscape Louisiana.Top Chef: New Orleans begins with 19 chefs in contention for the title. This season, instead of a qualifying round, two contestants of the 19 are winners from the pre-season Padma's Picks web show, which had 10 local chefs compete in head-to-head challenges. Each round will have challenges exploring Louisiana and its different influences – both musical and cultural cuisine. Produce, proteins and industries unique the region will be featured; and guest judges who range from celebrities, musical giants and elite chefs will evaluate the chefs' dishes.Padma Lakshmi continues as host, along with returning head judge Tom Colicchio, and judges Gail Simmons, Emeril Lagasse, and Hugh Acheson. The Top Chef title includes a feature in Food & Wine magazine, the opportunity for the winner to showcase his or her skills at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Colorado, and $125,000 to help turn the winner's culinary dreams into reality.
