    • Justin Hawkins (The Darkness): (during his performance) Well isn't this great, Yeah?

    Notes (6)

    • Not live: This episode was pre-recorded on 7th February 2006.

    • New Face: The two Sugababes performances are the first to feature new member Amelle Berrabah after Mutya Buena left the band just before Christmas.

    • It's Snowing!: A falling snow effect, normally only seen on Christmas Specials, is superimposed over the show titles and captions.

    • Pre-recorded: In an unusual change of tack, and evidentally done to make best use of the daylight with the spectacular Italian mountain views, this edition was entirely pre-recorded during the daytime on the 6th and 7th of February with no live parts at all. It's likely Fearne recorded many different versions of the intro to this weeks number one with the correct one being quickly edited into the show just before it was aired.

    • A Day Late: This episode and the following three episodes are all broadcast on a Monday instead of a Sunday. Ironic that this is caused by scheduling of live Winter Olympic events that this edition commemorates.

    Trivia (4)

    • Onscreen Factoid: (for Abba) Abba have never played at the Olympics but little Kylie did sing 'Dancing Queen' at the2000 Games in Sydney and Agnetha Abba (the blonde one) made a single in support of Sweden's bid to host the 1992 Winter Olympics. They didn't get them.

    • Onscreen Factoid: (for Madonna) Madonna first visited Turin in 1987 on her 'Who's That Girl?' tour. When she returned in 1990 on her 'Bland Ambition World Tour' she caused a stir with her raunchy performance. Now hopefully a little older and wiser and her leotard firmly in place Madge could be back with a rumoured 2006 summer tour. Watch this space!

    • Onscreen Factoid: (for U2) If you caught the Olympic opening ceremony on Friday then see if you can guess what the U2 connection is... Give up? The lighting was designed by Mark Fisher and the show was produced by Marco Balich who have both lent their talents to U2's stage shows.

    • Onscreen Factoid: (for Ringo Starr) History tells us that Ringo is not of Olympic standard when it comes to snow. Remember the Beatles' film 'Help'? In that 60's classic Ringo can be seen attempting to ski and toboggan but his greatest success came in falling over a lot!
