  • Gene Kelly recaps his career in a show taped in Pasadena, California. Film clips show highlights from Kelly's movies, as Kelly sings some of his movie hits: Our Love is Here to Stay (from An American in Paris, 1951); Good Morning (Singin' in the Rain, 1952); Long Ago and Far Away (Cover Girl, 1944); and Almost Like Being in Love (Brigadoon, 1954). On stage, Kelly performs with some of his former costars: Frank Sinatra (I Could Write a Book, from Pal Joey. Kelly played it on Broadway, Sinatra on film); Lucille Ball (Friendship, which they sang in the 1943 film DuBarry Was a Lady); Cyd Charisse (a dance routine set to Nice and Easy); Cindy Williams (You Wonderful You, from Summer Stock, 1950; Cindy appeared with Kelly in the 1971 TV series The Funny Side); and Liza Minnelli (For Me and My Gal, which Kelly and Liza are also seen doing in a clip from a 1959 CBS TV special-The Gene Kelly Show [04/24/59]-when Liza was 13).
