  • When UFOs place themselves over major cities around the world the alien Visitors, led by charismatic Anna (Morena Baccarin) claim to come in peace, providing humanity with medical miracles and technological breakthroughs. Different characters (Joel Gretsch from The 4400, Elizabeth Mitchell from Lost) become suspicious of the 'V's (visitors) real intentions and try to investigate what is really going on before it is too late so they can claim Victory (V)! Based on the original 1980s miniseries about alien lizards visiting Earth, this ABC sci-fi project is the brainchild of The 4400 co-creator/exec producer Scott Peters.moreless

    • Georgie: V's posing as humans established themselves in all facets of life whether it be business, government, religion, the military. It took years. And once embedded among us, they set out to cause worldwide instability. Unnecessary wars, economic meltdown, faith twisted into extremism.

    • Opening Text: Where were you when JFK was assassinated? Where were you on 9/11? Where were you this morning?

    • Georgie: The final stage of the Visitors' plan began with them revealing themselves to us.¬†They gain trust with the promise of friendship and technology and, of course, all they're really doing is positioning themselves as the saviors of mankind.

    • Chad Decker: If you could speak to the protesters, what would you say? Anna: That embracing change is never easy. But the reward for doing so can be far greater than you can ever imagine.

    • Erica: I am here for you. Tyler: Yeah. When you're here.

    • Valerie: What if that was important? Ryan: Sweetheart, there is nothing more important than you.

    • Anna: This is an inspiring moment for us all. Mankind and Visitors coming together. We are honored by your friendship. We will cherish it, nurture it and never abandon it. We are of peace. Always.

    • Father Jack: No one is saying don't trust the Visitors. But don't they need to earn our trust?

    Trivia (20)

    • Goof: After being attacked, Ryan shows Georgie a wound on his left arm. However, when Ryan goes back home he moves his right arm with difficulty as if the wound were there.

    • Goof: In the closed captioning for N.O.R.A.D and N.Y.P.D. The "N" was left lower case.

    • As with the original series, the Visitor's alien text is just a substitution cipher for the alphabet, but written top to bottom then left to right, often breaking words into multiple columns. Many letters have a counterpart rotated 180 degrees, while the glyph for the letter H is already 180-degree symmetric.

    • Goof: Erica reveals she spoke to her son "an hour ago" making it 7:30/8am in New York City. A few minutes later during Anna's broadcast there is a split shot of New York and L.A. both in daylight with blue sky. It is unlikely for there to be daylight in L.A. since it's 4:30/5am there when it's 7:30/8am in N.Y.

    • Goof: The plane that crashed next to Ryan was a Navy F-16. Navy F-16s aren't very common as they are all trainers or "enemy" planes.

    • Goof: After Erica tells Tyler to go to bed he picks up his iPhone to look at the picture of Lisa. On the wider shot of the phone the time clearly says "8:48". When the shot cuts to a close up of the phone the time has changed to "12:37".

    • Goof: When Anna is scrolling through potential outfits, the movements of her physical and simulated selves are not in sync. They are also not merely 'delayed' but actually different movements.

    • Goof: The expression in the photo of Lisa on Tyler's iPhone is not the same as when she took the picture of herself.

    • After the arrival when the ship starts to make noise, an "Oceanic Plaza" sign is briefly visible in the partitioned off part where Tyler and his mother are reunited. This is an allusion to the science fiction series LOST, which ended it's five season run in May 2010. The series, created by J.J. Abrams, focused on the survival and strange occurrences to passengers aboard an "Oceanic" Air flight.

    • The resistance meeting takes place at 4400 Pier Avenue. This is a reference to the show The 4400 in which Joel Gretsch starred.

    • Erica: (To Dale) Solve the case yet, Sherlock? This is an allusion to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous character Sherlock Holmes, a private investigator with brilliant skills to solve the most difficult cases.

    • 1st kid in news: Dude, this is "Independence Day"! 2nd kid: Which was a rip-off of any number of alien invasion predecessors. This is an allusion to the 1996 Roland Emmerich's movie about an alien invasion of Earth.

    • In the incident report for George Sutton, the names of several members of V's Art Department can be seen in the box to the left of the photo.

    • Father Jack shows behind his ear While implied that Father Jack is showing a cut in his skin for his red blood to prove himself as human, this is a clear allusion to the television show The 4400 starring the same actor Joel Gretsch and created/written by Scott Peters, who is also the creator/writer for V.
On The 4400, Joel's character was involved in a major plot where the telling sign was a mark behind the ear, his he revealed several times on that show.
