  • Episode Description
  • "After we evacuate, this facility will be like Chernobyl." The team is informed of an alien craft uncovered in a geological site in Spirit Lake, Wisconsin. The vessel and the alien inside, in suspended animation, are taken to an Air Force Nuclear Research facility for their study. However, they find out when they get there that the Pentagon has assigned the facility to Project 9 – a shadow government so high up that even the President is need-to-know. Heading this is Colonel Frederick Alexander, a scientist who has odd, and even dangerous ideas of how to commune with the aliens.moreless

  • Quotes (2)

    • Harrison: Norton, I have a... Norton: Green floating weirdness? Harrison: Green floating weirdness.

    • Harrison: Colonel, we're confined to quarters. Ironhorse: It's a matter of semantics, Harrison. "Quarters" to me means this entire facility.

    Notes (3)

    • It's revealed that Project 9 was responsible for Hanger 15 in "The Resurrection". With this in mind, there would seem to be some kind of further connection they may have to the aliens since both 9 and 15 are base-three numbers.

    • The aliens' telepathy extends to other information outlets as we see here that they can also absorb data from computer conduits.

    • This is the only episode of the entire first season that doesn't feature an appearance or even a mere mention of the Advocacy.

    Trivia (4)

    • Speaking thereof, Harrison says that to walk into an irradiated room would be dire. But Harrison is exposed to Alexander's lab, which was supposed to be irradiated.

    • Radiation lights up an entire room, but everyone seems to be safe in the ventilation shafts. This is highly unlikely. After all, it's in its title - ventilation. In fact, Alexander's lab seems to have been exposed while the alien was still in the shaft.

    • In the room with the pod, there was a dead body and a gun lying on the floor. But when Ironhorse is in there, we can see right where they would be, but both are now gone.

    • When Alexander closes the door behind Sgt. Tex, you can see the shadow of a boom mike against the wall to the right corner.
