  • Music: Something's Gotta Give, Louise, La Cucaracha, Valentine, Mimi, and Yankee Doodle Dandy.

  • The official title of this episode is Westinghouse Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Show: Lucy Goes to Mexico

  • Variety praised the second installment as Desilu's most ambitious project to date, but the show lost its time slot to Arthur Murray's Dance Party on NBC.

  • The script for this episode was previously shelved by CBS. Desi Arnaz was so impressed by it that he bought it from the network for Desilu Playhouse. So popular with the audience and the critics, it served as the launch for Rod Serling's classic, long running Twilight Zone television show.

  • Betty Furnes (fur NESS) was the sponsor spoke lady and appeared pitching Westinghouse every show.

  • Make Room for Daddy moved into the vacated Monday night I Love Lucy slot in fall of 1957. When the Danny Thomas show went on summer hiatus, CBS re-ran Lucy shows in the old time slot, and received higher ratings than first run episodes of Daddy.

  • This episodes ranks as one of the ALL TIME GREAT Lucy shows. Lucille Ball is hysterical in an episode containing high emotion, suspected infidelity, a tour de force group snow fight, and a pantomine segment by Lucy.

  • Lucille Ball was suppose to play a number of non-Lucy characters on Desilu Playhouse, but his is the only one that ever panned out.
