    • Nic: You know, he didn't start talking until he was three.

    • Adam: So, what's your name? Summer's gotta be your fake stripper name, right? Summer: Right... It's Eleanor. Adam: And Eleanor is your fake fake stripper name? Summer: Yes.

    • Marjorie: I'm gonna get you some Ibuprofen!

    • Dave: How did, eh, last night go with, ermm, Summer? Adam: Nothing. Dave: Nothing? Dude, her name is Summer. I dated an Autumn once and I still haven't fully recovered. Adam: Yeah, nothing happened. I'm sure something could have, but nothing did.

    • Brian: All under control, that's the best you've got? Dave: You mencioned the code, we'll figure it out... Brian: It can tank the whole game, Dave. Dave: Yeah, kind of like the fact that we don't have a signed contract, which we would have if you actually talked to Adam, instead of sticking his face into the sofa... Brian: He started it! Dave: He started it? What are you, twelve?

    Trivia (29)

    • Actress Polly Shannon was originally cast as Marjorie.

    • Brian O'Hara & Adam form a pact that they will each break up with their current girlfriends.

    • Dave & Deena Greco have a brunch where Brian O'Hara finds out that Adam & Marjorie are engaged.

    • Brian O'Hara & Dave Greco work at a Video Game Business. The sign reads: Zap Monkey No Pain No Game With a monkey on the right side.

    • Karen is referred to as "car girl" because Brian meets here when he drives into the back of her car.

    • Brian O'Hara drives a blue station-wagon.

    • Neither of the teams in the soccer match that Angelo watches is the Italian national team. In fact, looking at the camera angles and the uniforms on the players, it looks like it's just some footage from a documentary about soccer in the 1970s. Moreover, no Italian would paint their face green-white or blue-red. They would paint it blue-white. The Italian national team (in every sport) wears NOT green, white or red (like in the flag), but azure (blue). It was the color of the royal house of the Kingdom of Italy, that is why they always wear blue.

    • Brian goes around in a "Barney" suit.

    Allusions (11)

    • Dave: OK, Grasshopper. This is a reference to The Karate Kid where Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) would call his student, Daniel (Ralph Maccio) Young Grasshopper.

    • Title: Similar to the title of the play The Importance of Being Earnest

    • The title of the episode alludes to the 1989 movie Sex, Lies, and Videotape directed by Steven Soderbergh.

    • Summer: Well, that's all folks! This is the catchphrase on the banner shown at the end of Looney Tunes cartoons. The phrase was first used at the end of a 1930 Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoon and was spoken by the character Bosko. This appears to have been a development of the earlier line 'So long, folks!', which had been used in 1929 Bosko cartoon. The Looney Tunes lines may have been influenced by a British cartoon from 1926 in the Jerry The Troublesome Tyke series. This ended with 'And That's All!'. Many other characters have uttered the line since, in both the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series. Notable amongst these was Porky Pig. His stuttered 'Th-th-th-that's all folks!' is the best remembered version of the line. The voice behind many of these characters, including Porky Pig, was Mel Blanc - probably the best-known voice actor and the person who virtually invented that medium. His grave marker includes what has become one of the best-known of all epitaphs - 'That's All Folks'

    • When Brian is driving and then running to stop the wedding, it was very similar to the scene in The Graduate where Dustin Hoffman does the same thing

    • Nicole: It's a classic father son dynamic. Brian: Well, thank you, Cat Stevens. This is alluding to Cat Stevens' hit song Father and Son.

    • Adam: It's like Top Gun. We're like Maverick and Goose. Top Gun is a 1986's movie staring Tom Cruise as Maverick and Anthony Edwards as Goose.

    • Male Nanny: …and the second season of Lost on dvd. Lost is a hit tv-show, created by producer JJ. Abrams who also is the producer of What about Brian.
