Trivia (3)

  • Mozzie is referred to as Rain Man several times throughout this episode. The real Rain Man was Lawrence Kim Peek (1951-2009), a savant with an eidetic memory, but developmental and motor disabilities. Peek was born without a corpus collosum, which connects the left and right hemispheres of the brain.

  • When Mozzie is playing the synthesiser to try to work out the code he gets frustrated and thumps the keys and you can hear a chord play. This would be impossible as he is using a Minimoog which is monophonic and incapable of playing chords.

  • When Mozzie discovers June's pug Bugsy with Neal's anklet around its neck, he calls the dog Benjamin Siegelbaum. Benjamin Siegelbaum (February 28, 1906 – June 20, 1947), called Bugsy Siegel, was an American mobster who was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Allusions (2)

  • Peter: (about Mozzie) Rain Man, I get it. Rain Man (1988) tells the story of a selfish yuppie named Charlie Babbitt (played by Tom Cruise) who learns after the death of his father that he has an unknown brother named Raymond (Dustin Hoffman), an autistic savant. Together, they travel across the country.

  • Neal: Easy, Amadeus. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was a famous Classical composer who wrote hundreds of symphony, opera, choral, and piano pieces.
