  • RenĂ©e O'Connor's directorial debut. In the present day, a young woman is certain that she was Xena in a former life. Her boyfriend takes her to see a past lives expert but the experience holds surprises for them all. A so-so clip show to finish the season

    • Annie: I went back when Callisto had you two tied up, and you know what? Joxer saved your butts. I saw it from his point of view, and you would never have gotten that chakram if he hadn't come in when he did. He had the heart of a lion, and a really, really big one, too. Harry: You're right, Annie. Annie: And he was a very underrated fighter.

    • Mattie: I felt like I was really there. Marco: You're probably watching too many episodes. Mattie: No, I don't watch that show, bunch of chop-socky crap. Besides, this was so repulsive. It couldn't have been an episode.

    • Annie: Harry I got some bad news for you. You and I aren't made for each other. She's your soulmate. Harry: My soulmate? Annie: If you could just stay awake through one episode, you'd know these things.

    • Annie Day: I decked the God of War!

    • Gabrielle: Xena, life is eternal. It has no beginning and no end. The loving friends we meet on our journey. Return to us, time after time. We never die, because we were never really born.

    Notes (7)

    • The final shot of Annie singing as she leaves the building is not Lucy Lawless. Shooting was half a day over and her screen double took Lucy's place in this scene.

    • This was the last episode of the series broadcast by Channel 5 in the United Kingdom. After seasons 1-3 being very popular in a Saturday evening slot, they suddenly dropped the series during season 4 as part of a station shake-up. Some later episodes of season 4, such as this one, were shown as part of a Saturday morning youth orientated slot, although a great deal of episodes (such as "The Ides of March") were completely skipped.

    • Lucy was supposed to sing "Annie the Mighty", but Lucy ad-libbed "Annie Bananie" in rehearsal and they all loved it, so they kept it. The phrase "She kicks fanny" seems a bit strange, though, because in most countries in the British Commonwealth (including New Zealand) "fanny" does not mean one's derriere, but rather a woman's genitalia!

    • This was the last episode of Costume Designer Ngila Dickson. She left Xena to work on the film The Fellowship of the Ring, also made in New Zealand.

    • Unfortuately Renee's favorite scene was removed from the final cut of this episode. It was a very campy clip of Harry dressing up in the Xena outfit.

    Trivia (10)

    • This is Robert Trebor's last appearance in either Xena or Hercules, but there was a rumor that he would return in the show's fifth season.

    • Just like in season 2's "The Quest", Xena and Gabrielle kiss romantically on the lips with Xena in a man's body.

    • This is the first Xena episode with Ares since "Sacrifice Pt II".

    • A list of episodes that clips were taken from:
      "Sacrifice Pt II"
      "Intimate Stranger"
      "In Sickness and In Hell"
      "A Family Affair"
      "The Quest"
      "Return of Callisto"
      "The Reckoning"
      "One Against an Army"

    • This is the second episode to take place in modern times. The first was Season Two's "The Xena Scrolls"; then Season Four's "Deja Vu All Over Again"; and Season Six's "Send in the Clones", and lastly "Soul Possession."

    Allusions (3)

    • The title "Deja Vu All Over Again" is a Yogi Berra quote, who was known for making such odd or redundant comments.

    • When we first see General George Patton in the waiting room, they play the music typically associated with Caesar on the show. This is because this music came from the movie Patton. This is especially significant as Patton believed he was a reincarnation of Caesar. Incidentally, this movie is one of Producer Liz Friedman's all time favorite, making Patton's presence in the episode an in-joke.

    • Y2K Back in the late 1990s, there was some concern that when January 1, 2000 came, computers would be unable to recognize the date and would cause chaos. Luckily, it turned out to be all that worry for nothing.
