  • Trivia & Quotes
  • Quotes (4)

    • Jimmy: Excuse me. Yeah, sir. Are you a robot? Man: Actually, I'm a cyborg. I'm part man, part machine. While my human side controls my actions and emotions, my machine side, powered by its ray jet pack, enables me to travel at light speed throughout the universe. Jimmy: Hmm. So, uh, do you live with your mother or your grandmother? Man: Both!

    • Greg: Now that my dad's retired, he can visit as often as he wants. Kim: Yeah, and Greg's mom can come, too. Which is great, because being constantly criticized over the phone can be so cold and impersonal. Jimmy: Man, I envy your dad. No job, no responsibilities, nothing to do all day. Greg: Yeah, retirement. Or as you like to call it, 1992 through 1999.

    • Natalie: Oh, look, overalls today. Kim: They're girls' overalls. Look at the pattern. It's covered in flowers. Natalie: Flowered overalls—they must be made by OshKosh B'gosh, She's a Lesbian.

    • Jimmy: Are you wearing a pink tie-dye? Greg: It was white. We had a laundry mishap. Superman might fly, but his cape runs.

    Notes (3)

    • Greg Garcia commented, "We knew before San Diego Comicon we were going to do an episode of Yes, Dear that involved comic books. Patrick McCarthy, one of the writers for the show, is a huge comic book fan, and he went to SDCC for more 'research' into the episode."

    • Clips from this were featured on the December 4, 2003 episode of The View and the December 8, 2003 episode of Living It Up! with Ali and Jack (both with guest Mike O'Malley) and the December 9, 2003 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show (with guest Anthony Clark).

    • Although cut from that episode, Tony Nichols previously appeared in "House of Cards" as a different character.

    Allusions (1)

    • The title of the episode plays on the commercial brand of educational materials known as "Hooked on Phonics".
