Musicians set for guest TV appearances
By Tim Surette - TV.comEnrique Iglesias, Mandy Moore will appear on How I Met Your Mother; Amy Winehouse guests on The Simpsons.
They can sing, but can they act? TV viewers will find out soon, as three musicians are reportedly headed for guest appearances on television shows.
The one who should have the least trouble is Mandy Moore, who has turned her teen-pop singing career into a vehicle for more serious acting. The singer has appeared in several television shows and films, including the recent romantic comedy License to Wed with The Office's John Krasinski.
Moore will appear in an upcoming episode of the CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother, reports the online branch of Entertainment Tonight. Unlike fellow Hollywood starlets Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, Moore has managed to keep her image squeaky clean, but will get a little dirty as Amy, a love interest for the character Ted.
"Ted is freshly single and on the rebound, and on his first night out, he meets Amy, the ultimate bad decision," executive producer Carter Bays told the Web site. "She's the tattooed, vodka-swilling trainwreck that Mandy Moore thankfully never turned into."
Also getting a shot on How I Met Your Mother soon is Enrique Iglesias, who will appear in a few episodes, reports TVGuide.com. The Latin crooner will play a love interest for Robin (and in turn, nemesis for Ted) and make his debut in the season premiere.
One guest appearance on The Simpsons not previously announced by Fox is saucy and oft-sauced-up Brit singer Amy Winehouse, say multiple Internet reports. The buzz-worthy singer will reportedly meet Lisa at a blues bar and give her some singing lessons.
These reports should be taken with a grain of salt for the time being, as the networks have yet to confirm any of the claims. TV.com will have more information as it comes in.
