Mannix, maverick private-eye of a computerized detective agency, tries to rescue the kidnapped daughter of former rackets boss Sam Dubrio. Mannix bets he can get the girl back, if he can persuade her father to risk the 500,000-dollar ransom plus another 500,000 dollars to bribe the kidnappers' pickup man.
