Marisol Nichols is an American TV actress known for her tough female roles such as Detective Karen Bettancourt on Blind Justice and CTU agent Nadia Yassir on 24. Marisol, who has two younger brothers, was born on November 2, 1973, in Hinsdale, Illinois. As a teen, she displayed a rebellious streak which led to missing school and drug and alcohol abuse.
When she was 17, Marisol realized the need for change and got herself into more productive activities. She tried out for a play in junior college, got the lead role, and thus began her life as a performer. She then enrolled in theater s and soon after made her way into Los Angeles. After a year of persevering through auditions, Marisol made her television debut in the very short-lived TV series My Guys (1996). Guest-starring roles and movie appearances kept her busy during the late '90s and early 2000.
Although lasting for only one season, Nichols got her taste of a starring role in the 2005 ABC action drama Blind Justice. After four auditions, Nichols landed a major role in the sixth season of the FOX hit series 24 as the right-hand woman of the head of CTU.
Off the camera, Marisol is actively involved with organizations which fight for children's rights and educate parents and the community on abusive psychiatric drugging of children. She resides in Los Angeles, California.
