Mark Critch, a Canadian comedian, was born in Newfoundland and Labrador.
He wrote on This Hour Has 22 Minutes and is now a star after two appearances in the 10th Season and recurring in Seasons 11 and 12. He has also been a guest on CBC Radio One's Madly Off In All Directions, and is the host of cbc tv's Halifax Comedy Festival. He has also appeared in several films, including Anchor Zone, Rare Birds and Above and Beyond. He reached national notoriety after a 22 minutes peice aired in which canadian MP Carolyn Parrish stepped on a President George W. Bush doll, later causing her to be removed from cabinet. He is most famous for his road pieces on the show, in which he has accosted celebrities such as John Kerry, Michael Douglas, Alec Baldwin, Canadian Prime minister Paul Martin, Howard Dean and many more. Mark Critch has been a member of the Canadian Comedy industry for the past ten years. He is currently an anchor and roving reporter for the 13th season Gemini award winning This Hour Has 22 Minutes airing on CBC Television on Friday nights. Mark has previously appeared on Halifax Comedy Fest, Just for Laughs and Madly Off In All Directions. In 2002 Mark was honored with a Canadian Comedy Award for his writing on This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Mark recently co-hosted the ECMA Awards for CBC Television. Mark Critch a native Newfoundlander now makes his home in St. John's, Newfoundland with his wife Sherrie Winsor and two sons.
