Marla creates custom guitar straps under the name "Kiss My Axe" Guitar Straps. The prices range from $50 - $120. She has made guitar straps for the likes of Sheryl Crow (Paisley Embroidery), Avril Lavigne (Skulls and Crossbones) and Britney Spears (Butterflies). (edit) Marla has a collection of guitars. Her most favorite and the one she writes with is her Taylor acoustic. (edit) Marla has played a character named Dina twice in her career. First in 3rd Rock From The Sun and then on Friends. (edit) Marla was nominated in the category of Outstanding Performance By An Ensemble In A Drama Series at the Screen Actors Guild Awards three years in a row (1999, 2000 and 2001) for The Practice. Marla: (on starring as the bride-to-be in Big Day) I always fell through the cracks and kind of got by, never got asked any questions and that was fine with me. But it’s a whole different experience. I’m definitely a little terrified but I’m more excited. (edit) Marla: (on the therapeutic aspect of writing music) It’s very therapeutic and I feel like most of those songs (writing them at least) helped me get through said breakup. It gave me something to do besides cry!! (edit) Marla: (on moving on to more adult roles after Whatever It Takes) I'm pretty sure this is it for the teen movie thing. It's so frustrating to read when you get to page 20 and you're like, Oy! It's the same thing again! (edit) Marla: I think that's just how girls are. We have that maternal nature where we just want to fix everything and be there for everyone. (edit) Marla: (on going from a drama to a comedy) I definitely felt like I wanted to do more comedy. It wasn't something that, as far as TV goes, I'd really touched on. Aside from a handful of guest appearances. Because I was on a show that was so serious, people really kind of pigeonholed me into that a little bit. I wanted to break out of that mold. (edit)
