After re-viewing some of my dvds of the early seasons, I've noticed that the family seems to be eating a lot more in the first seasons comparing to later. In the first season, we watch them have breakfast, dinner and many other meals, prettyoften. However, it's like the producers would like to turn them into lookingeven more poor as they got into the series. With a completely empty frig and so on. Anybody ells who noticed that?

My guess is: at the beginning, they were trying to make them seem like a normal Chicago family, with a miserable life. It stays that way throughout. However, those features become far more exaggerated as the series goes along, until it's practically a cartoon.

The first few seasons were less campy. Peggy cooked meals and Kelly really didn't dress like a slut all the time. In fact Al was more likely to have sex with Peggy at a drop of a hat the first few seasons than in the later ones. The show was always funny but after a while the writers turned it into a "live-action" cartoon.

It's also funny how in the 1st episode Al had an Italian accent.

In the beginning mwc was meant to be an sitcom that pushed the limits so they made the bundys into an "I love my family but I dont want to be an around them 24 hours a day" kind of family but later on they changed and made the bundys into an poor family. Married With Children changed about three times during their run but I love every season very much and wished they would have kept the feeling they has during the first season.

The first three seasons were the most consistent. The only thing that improved in later seasons was the addition of Ted McGinley. Jefferson was a better character than Steve.

I agree. I think Jefferson made the show funny.

I thought they had a really expensive Bi-Level house for being poor.
