An accomplished and respected actor in theater and film, Martin Donovan recently appeared in ABC's Amy & Isabel and starred in the critically acclaimed ABC series Wonderland, which was created by Peter Berg and also starred Ted Levine and Patricia Clarkson.

Donovan is best known for his work in such feature films as Jane Campion's Portrait of a Lady, in which he won the National Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actor. Other projects include Don Roos' critically acclaimed The Opposite of Sex with Christina Ricci and Lisa Kudrow, and Richard LaGravanese's directorial debut Living Out Loud with Holly Hunter and Danny DeVito.

Donovan also recently appeared in A & E's The Great Gatsby with Mira Sorvino and Paul Rudd and just completed filming The Pornographer, A Love Story, which was written and directed by Alan Wade in which Donovan plays a filmmaker obsessed with an actress (Irene Jacob).

Other credits include award-winning Australian director Bill Bennett's In A Savage Land and Pushkin's masterpiece Onegin starring Ralph Fiennes and Liv Tyler. He also was seen in Heaven, a tightly wrought thriller from New Zealand filmmaker Scott Reynolds, HBO's harrowing WWII drama When Trumpets Fade, a widely praised role in Angela Pope's Hollow Reed with Ian Hart and Joely Richardson and Michael Almereyda's droll vampire saga Nadja co-starring Peter Fonda.

Originally from Reseda, California, Mr. Donovan studied acting at the American Theater Arts in Los Angeles, where he appeared in numerous plays. He moved to New York in 1983 where he was a member of the Cucaracha Theater Company until 1994 and appeared in over a half-dozen new works - most notably Richard Caliban's Famine Plays and Homo Sapien Shuffle.

Donovan currently resides with his wife, actress Vivian Lanko, and two children in Vancouver.
