1. Favirot Klinger excuse to get out of the army... | 05/14/2007 10:12am
|
Just wanted to see your favorite storys/plans for how Klinger trys to get out. Mine was the one that he was kidnapped as a baby from gypsys and smuggled to the US, meaning he is not really a US citizen thus not eligiable for drafting. This is from memory, I havent seen this episode for a while but thought it had to have been his most creative excuse. Try and top it, And if anyone knows the episode i am talking about feel free to let me know or correct my memory of the story.

Probably the camel incident. Just because he made up all these excuses in the chow line etc. I also enjoyed Potter's and Blake's responses to his "half of the family dead the other half pregnant" excuse, the depression, and the "still in Toledo" excuse. brilliant.

My favorite excuse was that he had to go home because he was now the sole remaining son in his family because his two older brothers were killed in an explosion of the boiler at the Toledo Harmonica Company. That whole dialogue was very funny. "This is your personnel record. You have no brothers." "Whoever said that was lying." "YOU said that." "Right, I was lying, sir." Another good excuse was that he was a Communist. He called Henry an "imperialist dog."

I like when he fakes amnesia and pretends he's still in Toledo. I especially like the end of that episode when Potter tricks him into admitting his rank.

I loved that one too... I also liked the one where he had to sit up on a flag pole in order to break the worlds' record, he almost did it, but lost by that much *holds thumb and forefinger about an inch apart  *...

I just like how he dresses up in women's clothing.  It's my favourite of all time. Of course, how he pretends like he thinks he's still in Toledo is pretty darn funny.

I like the one where he gets hit in the head by the chopper blade. and he can only speak Arabic. But my all time favorite would have to go to voodoo doll of col. Potter.

episode where its the middle of summer the rest of the camp is lineing up tyo use the bath tub and klinger has a pile of clothes on, finally he admits he can't take it any longer and Col. Potter say oh what a shame another 15 minutes and he would have had the discharge.

On the Trial of Henry Blake:
"Lying there in an unconscious condition looking like a big red bird with fuzzy pink feet."
Henry was referring to the fact that Klinger made a kite out of his red satin, and tried to escape the Army wearing pink slippers.

The episode is titled "Hawkeye, Get Your Gun" in the fifth season. It was a pretty good episode. And I have to agree that that is probably the best Klinger excuse when he claims he was a gypsy.

my favorite is when he tries to eat the jeep he eats the windshield wiper and bolts and drinks the oil. and then later he has to go lay down.

I like the one where he goes deaf and then we he get's his hearing back they say that that would have been a way for him to get out of the army and he trys to pretend that he was deaf again!
