Of all the shows that deserve to be on DVD, Maverick is right up in the top bunch. Now that Rockford seems to have made it to DVDland, maybe there's a chance for Bret and Bart!?!?
Luck is his companion, Gamblin' is his game! |

Shucks, Crazy, we could have quoted theme song couplets for many more messages before hitting the whole song! They just don't write themes like that these days. It might be hard to separate feelings for the show from any rating of its theme. It would be difficult to make a list of all-time great theme songs that wasn't linked to their shows' popularity. Maybe I'll go over to a general forum and ask folks to name the theme songs that they liked better than the shows. Or correspondingly themes that don't live up to their shows' quality. One more demonstration that I've got misplaced priorities or too much time on my hands. Wait, isn't that part of a lyric? too much . . . . yeah, but not a TV Theme, is it?

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself. Yeah, tv theme songs just ain't what they used to be. I always liked the western themes because they usually had lyrics. I wouldn't bother posting anything about this in the general forum. Hell, I have shirts older than most of the people on this site. Their idea of an old television show is "Seinfeld."

I was a little girl when Maverick was on. I had such a crush on Bret. Bart was okay, but I loved Bret. Now 50 years later, I like both characters. And you're right -- the Maverick series should be on DVD.
