Max's Pretend Friend. Ruby doesn't see that Max is playing with froggy so she assumes that he's got a "pretend friend." When froggy creates chaos, Ruby thinks Max is blaming his "pretend friend" for things that he's done. Fireman Max. In creator Rosemary Wells's own words, she explains the show's goal: " Max and Ruby celebrates the relationship between Ruby and her younger brother, Max, and the universal nature of sibling relationships. It's as common an experience to many childhoods as Band-aids and birthdays. And what makes… More the relationship in the series compelling is that I've added salt and pepper to it, instead of sugar." The residents of the show's universe are all rabbits which children (and even adults!) will find quite adorable. The superb animation appears to have been done on computer (not three dimensional, though) and the artwork itself is very, very well done. The characters' expressions, especially Max's mischievous look, and behaviors are worth watching! Interestingly, we never see the parents of Max and Ruby, making it look like they live by themselves in a big house. This has come under criticism by many parents. However, their neighbor-grandmother and other adults do make frequent appearances. Rosemary Wells has created many books and shows, such as Timothy Goes to School among others. Cast Max . An enthusiastic and determined three-year-old who speaks no more than a few words each show. Often at odds with his sister mainly because she doesn't understand him or doesn't want him to do some certain things (such as making noises). He tends to get things his way at the end, though! Ruby . Max's seven-year-old sister, a very smart, goal-oriented and responsible (albeit bossy) young lady. Almost in every episode, Ruby is frustrated by Max getting into messes or disobeying her, but she displays a tremendous amount of patience while she tries to set him straight. Grandma . Grandmother of Max and Ruby, she lives next-door and often pays them a visit, or vice versa. A classic grandmother both in personality and appearance: kind-hearted, generous, crow's feet, and a sweet smile. Louise . Best friend of Ruby's, they have a lot of things in common, including being related to curious little boys. Louise is in Bunny Scouts along with Ruby and Valerie. Morris . Louise's cousin who is a year or so younger than Max. Appears in very few episodes. (Thanks, Kerry & her daughter for pointing out that Morris is a cousin, not a brother of Louise's.) Valerie . Another friend of Ruby's as well as Louise's. She wears glasses and is an intelligent, funny girl. She's also in the Bunny Scouts. Martha . One of Ruby's friends and a Bunny Scout, although she appeared in only two episodes or so. Didn't speak much. Roger Piazza . Even though the only words he utters are "uh-huh" and "nuh-uh", he is perceived as the cool kid by Ruby and her friends. The "jock" type of boy, he's several months older than Ruby. (" He's seven and a half years old! " gushes Ruby in an episode.) The Huffington Family . The family is composed of sweet-tooth Mr. Huffington , friendly Mrs. Huffington , and their adorable kid Baby Huffington . They're well-known locals/neighbors, and Mrs. Huffington often asks Ruby to babysit Baby Huffington. Candi . She runs a local candy store and is very generous with candies. Rosalinda . The owner of the town's gift shop. Always willing to lend a paw. Bunny Scout Leader . (Anyone know her name?) The Bunny Scout Leader guides the girls through the activities to earn their badges. Yes, it's the bunny version of the Girls Scout. Mr. Piazza . Roger's father. He owns and runs the grocery store which Roger sometimes helps out at. Katie . Owner of a restaurant; she's also the waitress. Not a frequent character and played a role in Ruby's Surprise Party episode.

A Boring dumb animated show hide show
animation
The shows animation is horrible. Brightly colored Flash animated charaters over a ststic background. I mean this looks like someone took $100 and bought stuff for the show. You can see the moving parts!
Idea
Just repetitive all I hear is bossy sister ruby going no max no max no max. Max messes up anything and has no parents. The show has no educational value and they keep renewing it! Its boring 2 bunnys sometimes bring freinds over run around a house. anywhere else? The 10 episodes they do go out the fair, the town, shopping, the grand mas, their freinds house, the beach, sking ruby bosses max around most of the time the are in the house. This is something that they air during Nap time to Help kids go to sleep. It has a negitive impact max gets his way. It just came out wrong!
I feel this show gives children a very bad example of how to interact with other children and siblings. Ruby is always supressing Max's imagination and ideas and she is not very polite to her friends or her brother. I dislike and think it is inappropriate hide show
My son loves this show but as I pay attention I really don't like it. Ruby may be portrayed as patient but she is also bossy and condescending to Max. Also where are the parents? This show is not good for teaching appropriate family dynamics. Grandmother is great; she is very encouraging of both Max and Ruby. I am just irritated every time it comes on because of the way that Ruby treats Max and I have seen my 5yr old son acting in a similar manner towards his 1yr old brother. I correct the problem as soon as I see it but I feel that Max and Ruby is not a very good show for the simple fact of teaching children the inappropriate way to socialize with siblings and friends. Ruby is quite rude to Max and her friends.
Nice and engaging show hide show
This show is a bit funny too i watched it ever since i was like 4 and i liked it this is a pretty decent show good for children age 4 and up the age that children usually watch this show at. Now I'm up for some Anime and PG movies I am not suppose to watch kiddie stuff i kinda grew out of it but i still do watch children shows and movies sometimes although i don't watch tv that much but this one is still a decent and funny show to me about a 7-year old maid and a 3 year old mischievous bunny who dosen't care about what the maid says. I don't know where they're parents have disappeared to it's like the only parent they have is a grandmother and the 7 year old has a special and best friend Louise and some other bunny scouts. Unusual but still a nice show not classic though.
Ruby and Max are siblings apparently living alone. This cartoon chronicles everyday things, such as losing a tooth, or having a tea party. Of course, Max is always around to mess things up! hide show
My three year old watches this show. By reading the other reviews, they point out many things I've thought myself..where are the parents? I figured Ruby was around ten, while Max was around two...and yeah, Ruby is overly bossy (like when she refuses to let Max eat his muffin until they find her missing tooth) and Max doesn't seem to listen to a thing Ruby tells him..even ruining her big moments (like missing out on yelling "surprise" at her best friend's surprise party because she was too busy scolding Max) But it isn't a terrible show..the animation is cute and some of the episodes are watchable. And hey, for two children living by themselves..what more could we expect from them?
I really dont like it at all. Where are the parents? A 7 year old and a 3 year old shouldn`t live alone. Its just not right. Also, it is a bad influence on kids. Ruby clearly tells max not to do something, max promises, ruby leaves, and he does it! That is completely irresponsible. What makes him think he can just do whatever he wants, and get away with it? Don`t get mad and report me, because I am just expressing my opinion. This show is bad, and it doesnt teach kids anything at all. Parents, people say this is a kids show that teaches kids stuff, but it is about a bossy girl who has a little brother who does what he wants, and thinks he can get away with it. Don`t let your kids watch this. They will grow up to be irresponsible if you let them watch any bit of this. I am just expressing my opinion. This show is bad, and I think it is kind of a bad influence because it will teach kids to be irresponsible because max is told not to do something, yet he does it! I don`t like this show.
