Marie Osmond, Betty White, and Ashley Johnson play three generations of women running a bed & breakfast in this short-lived family comedy. Marie plays a recently divorced woman raising her daughter and Betty is the matchmaking mother who's determined to get her hitched up again.
The series was in trouble from the start. Osmond complained to the press that the producers could not decide on what type of show they wanted to make, changing the approach "five or six times in one week". Critics complained that the scripts were sticky sweet and filled with sentimentality. less «

  When a show that was cancelled & last aired more than 10 years ago leaves you with a pleasant memory & a wish the show was still on tv, you know it was really good, if not great.
  For me, such is the case with 'Maybe This Time'. There was a chemistry between all 3 of the main female characters that made their on-screen relationships believable. Not only an excellent showcase for Marie Osmond's natural acting ability, but a perfect venue for Betty White's supreme comedic talent, this sitcom was a gem stolen from us & we should have screamed "thief!" until it was given back.

  Was not funny hide « show »

  I grew up watching the Donny and Marie show so I wanted to like this show. Sadly, that was not the case. The biggest problem with this show was Marie Osmond's character. She was so uptight, which I guess was the point, but it just made her very unlikable. Betty White did what she could with the material she was given, but it was not enough. What a waste of talent.
