Dr. Gallagher goes on the hunt for the necrophiliac-like murderers of two women who have kidnapped his girlfriend. Will he get to her in time, or will she become their latest victim?
Welcome to the McCallum guide at TV.com. Gritty and realistic, McCallum stars John Hannah as forensic pathologist Dr. Iain McCallum. Working in the morgue of St. Patrick's Hospital in London's East End, McCallum and his colleagues find and interpret forensic evidence, using their skills… More to ensure that the guilty are punished and the innocent go free. Driven in part by his own demons, and caught between budget constraints and demands by the police for quick answers, McCallum often finds himself launching his own independent investigation into the lives of the deceased.
Exceptional and outstanding! hide show
I don't know why more Americans haven't given this show a fair chance. Of all the medical examiner mystery tv dramas, McCallum is my favourite. The storylines and plots are intriguing, not to mention thrilling ... even though admittedly at times, one has to suspend reality a bit as to the portrayal of forensic and law enforcement procedures. I especially enjoy the character development of McCallum and his co-workers - each with their own personality and are believably human in loyalty, betrayal, folly, and relationship interactions.
Stand out co-star of the show is Gerard Murphy, as the gritty, hardnosed DI Bracken.
