I liked the drama and interpersonal relationships being taken to another level on the show BUT, and this is a huge BUT, the crime shown on this show, showing the horribleness of what happened the boy, turned me off of this show as a steady watcher. hide show

There was a LOT of development for the characters, their place in life, and the traumas associated with "coming out" (or being forced out) to reveal who the real 'you' is in this episode. I liked the drama and interpersonal relationships being taken to another level on the show BUT, and this is a huge BUT, the crime shown on this show, along with one in the first season featuring a little girl, showing the absolute horribleness of what happened to them, the children, turned me off of this show as a steady watcher.

The crime aspect of this episode went for the shock value, and was resolved sloppily. The perp was shot as soon as he saw the crowd waiting for him? He started shooting? What? Most of all the image of the little boy was upsetting. Medium tends to go for the gruesome, but this was over the top disturbin, even for this show.

I simply remember my favorite things... hide show

As Ariel loses a part on the school play, her parents lose their jobs, Scanlon loses his patience and a little boy loses his life Medium comes back with a bang as it brings each and every story together for an exciting climax that, like the song says, makes us remeber our favorite things so then we won't feel so bad.

At the end of the day Scanlon & Allison are stronger than a new D.A. & a few set backs, Joe more resourceful than his former boss gave him credit for, Davalos more resilient than his replacement and a certain Ariel Dubois as fair as one Cynthia Keenan the woman that, for the time being, will hire Allison to solve cases like the one she helped solve this time around.

    great episode hide show

Allison is out of work when her boss devalos gets retrenched from office. Joe loses his job from his aerospace company because of his association with his wife. but even if allison is unemployed, her visions from beyond keep coming to haunt her daily life. When a boy ends up missing at a toy store. Allison contacts an investigator and tells her that she might have information about the boy. This is a really great episode, it tells the life of allison in a right way. it looks supernatural but contemporary at the same time. the writers did a really good job.

There's a future for Al - who knew!? hide show

At the end of the previous season, we struggled to find a "way out" for Allison and her family. But now it looks like there are many new opportunities for Al, particularily.

If the old DA comes back to town to start up a new, private, practice and Al is paid to help the private investigator lady - there's a bright future. As far as the plot of this episode, I wasn't really knocked over with delight - but I like where they are taking the story. I also continue to be happy with the fact that they are giving Al's hubby a bit more room in the storyline. He's interesting, at last!

    I was amazed. hide show

I'd started to go off Medium last season but this episode dragged me back into the fold.

The story had you gripped from start to finish and the sound track. If anyone out there knows where i can find that version of "My Favourite Things" from the sound of music, i'd be very grateful. I've been singing it for days.

The characters are developing like any 4 year relationship. We are seeing the family grow up and learn life lessons as well as dealing with the ups and downs of living on this planet.

I don't want to give anything away about the epsiode, apart from i highly recommend you watch it.
