On Meet My Folks, the parents of a 20-something male or female get to choose between three bachelors/bachelorettes, deciding which one will win a week-long trip to Hawaii with their son/daughter. The three contestants usually arrive on a Friday, spending the weekend at the family's house. They are forced to share many secrets and go through different trials throughout the weekend, including a lie detector test as a final challenge. Ex-girlfriends often stop by, videos containing secrets from the contestants' friends and family often get delivered, and unexpected early morning excursions are all too common during the intense competition of Meet My Folks.

Meet My Folks was cancelled by NBC in 2003 after its second season. MyNetworkTV began airing repeats of the show on September 12th, 2007. Based on how the repeats performed MyNetworkTV was possibly going to begin producing new episodes of the show, but that never happened and the last repeat episode was shown on June 27th, 2008.less «

  For all the people that thought that the Meet My Folks first couple of episodes was going to be new, they are not. Sorry, I thought it was going to be new too. For at least 3 weeks, they are going to be repeats of the NBC ones. That's as fast as TV Guide goes in regards to the date. I'm not the person that edits this "Meet My Folks" thing though. less «

  what the hell, nbc hide « show »

  What the hell is with tv networks? All they seem to be doing is ending good shows and then bringing in new shows that end up not fairing as well as the older ones, and its not only nbc doing this. meet my folks was an awesome show, i wish nbc, or another network, would bring it back or make a "replica" of it...hey, isnt fox good at taking other networks ideas and making them "their own" ?? lol

  What a great show! hide « show »

  This show was great three guys would try hooking up with some chick while her parents watched the whole thing. Then they would have to do something absurd at dinner or something would be revlied about them on a video after dinner, like banging there friends sit in the ear or whatever. Then at the end the parents would hook the kid up to the lie detector and ask him if they wanted to bang his daugther or if his wife is hot how classic bring it back NBC.
