Halfway during the first season of The Flintstones, Mel Blanc got into a serious car crash and had to remain in a body cast. Instead of replacing him, Joe Barbera arranged to set up a temporary recording studio in Mel's bedroom to record the voices of Barney and Dino for the rest of the season.
